Professor Hitchcock is a perinatal social worker who earned her BSW from Buffalo State College, and her MSW from SUNY Buffalo. Professor Hitchcock teaches at Buffalo State College and Erie Community College. She has sixteen years of clinical, research, and professional presentation experience related to working with women, couples and families affected by perinatal mood disorders. Professor Hitchcock is an active member of the WNY Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders Task Force, chairing the education and training committee; and, the Postpartum Resource Center of New York, Project 62. Professor Hitchcock has conducted parenting workshops at EPIC and is interested in the connection between perinatal mood disorders and how they affect parenting outcomes. Outside of work, Professor Hitchcock enjoys traveling and spending time with her five children, husband, and pets. She also enjoys volunteering in various capacities within her community.
