Joined the faculty in September of 1977. Previously worked for five years in Montreal at the Shawbridge Youth Center as a Residential Coordinator and Director of the Foster Care Program.
I teach the Methods classes and Field Seminar.
My primary practice areas are working with youth in the Child Welfare System, Training of Foster Parents and Foster Care Workers, Outdoor Experiential Education Programs (facilitating Challenge Course and Ropes Courses) and National Disaster Relief Worker for the American Red Cross. I was deployed by the Red Cross for two week stints in Louisiana, New Jersey and Hurricane Sandy in NYC).
For the last six years my wife and I have been volunteering in different Latin American countries. We work with children (ages 10-15), develop programs and help building houses. The last two years we have worked in El Sauce, Nicaragua, where we have feel in love with the people and will be returning again next January.
My interests outside of Buffalo State are Swing Dancing, Kayaking and going to my grandkids soccer games.
