Professor Harrison earned a BSW at Buffalo State College State, an MSW from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, and is in the final phases of completing a Ph.D. in social work at the prestigious Smith College School for Social Work in Northampton, Mass. Professor Harrison imparts over fifteen years of clinical social work practice experience with her students, teaching as an adjunct instructor at Smith College – MSW Program and other colleges in the Buffalo, NY area. Professor Harrison’s research interests include: the reciprocal relationship between childhood maltreatment, adult revictimization, and imprisonment of women; mental health effects of discrimination and stigma among marginalized groups; and, creating interventions that support socioeconomic growth and development among African-American women.
